Job advertisement: ACCOUNTANT IN A CREATIVE ENVIRONMENT

Theater Thikwa has existed for more than 30 years and is Germany’s most important inclusive/mixed-abled theater. Performers with and without disabilities develop and present dance, theater, and performance here. In the Kreuzberg Mühlenhaupt courtyards, at Fidicinstraße 40, Theater Thikwa operates a fully accessible venue in collaboration with the English Theatre Berlin. In close proximity to the theater is the Thikwa Workshop for Theater and Art – where the workplace is also located – which offers training in acting, dance, and visual arts for people considered to have intellectual, psychological, or learning disabilities. They form the 43-member ensemble.

Theater Thikwa e.V. is looking for a qualified, experienced accountant, starting as soon as possible, part-time (20 hours per week, with the option for additional hours, flexible working hours, and remote work by arrangement).

Your responsibilities:
– Financial accounting, reviewing, classifying, and posting all receipts
– Managing bank transactions, invoice correspondence, and petty cash administration
– Processing salaries (external calculation), social security for artists, etc.
– Communication with the tax office
– Collaboration with project management, ensuring accurate reporting of funding allocations
– Office organization

Your profile:
– Completed training as an accountant, tax clerk, or a comparable commercial qualification, or several years of experience as an accountant
– Proficiency in and relevant experience with the accounting software Lexware (a switch to DATEV may be possible), as well as common Office applications, particularly Excel/spreadsheets
– Precise and reliable work style, independent work ethic, and teamwork skills
